Meet Dr. Alpert

Andrew M. Alpert, DMD, graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1972. He was privileged to receive an invitation into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Honorary Dental Society. Graduating dental school with OKU status is like graduating college with a Phi Beta Kappa degree.

Following a general practice residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, he completed his advanced specialty education program in periodontics at Temple University in 1975. Dr. Alpert is a fellow of the prestigious International Team for Implantology (ITI) which promotes scientific research worldwide in the field of Dental Implantology. Dr. Alpert is one of only 240 ITI fellows throughout the world. He was elected to be a fellow of ITI during the first year that the fellowship became available.

A leader in his profession, Dr. Alpert shares his knowledge of periodontics and implant dentistry with professional publications, lectures and as the director, for the past twenty years, of the Triple Win Study Club (TWSC) which is affiliated with the Seattle Study Club which is a national organization of dental study clubs. Since he has been in practice, Dr. Alpert has always emphasized the critical importance of the intimate relationship between restorative dentistry, periodontics and dental implants; and hence setting the stage for the finest result for his dearly valued patients.

Furthermore, Dr. Alpert’s practice was one of the first practices in the country to be involved in the surgical placement of modern day dental implants. He began the surgical placement of dental implants in 1981 long before dental implants were routinely accepted as a superior modality for replacing teeth. Dr. Alpert offers three different systems of implants in his practice. Each system is highly regarded throughout the world as a “Rolls Royce” of dental implants.

Additionally, since 2002 Dr. Alpert has offered his patients the opportunity to have teeth placed onto implants on the same day that the teeth are removed, and the implants are placed. This is known as immediate teeth replacement on the same day as implant placement. This technique is now widely accepted throughout the world and Dr. Alpert was one of the earliest practioners to provide this modality of treatment.
